The first quarter of 2023 was notable for several major projects we were awarded. Hakkers’ well-filled order book ensures a productive year. Several contracts have now been signed with clients, such as Shell Nederland and the Port of Amsterdam.

For Shell, Hakkers is providing the design, engineering, fabrication and construction (installation) of a new jetty. Shell will use the new jetty to safely transport organic food and biofuels to and from the HEFA plant at the Shell Energy and Chemicals park Rotterdam. Commissioned by the Port of Amsterdam, Hakkers will partially replace and extend the HES Bulk terminal quay. The existing quay structure is located at the corner of Westhaven – Sonthaven. It is about 100 metres long and has reached the end of its useful life. A new anchored combi-wall of about 130 metres will be installed in front of the existing quay. The new quay section in Sonthaven will be built to complement the current quay line. The wall will be finished with a reinforced concrete capping piece and equipped with fendering and bollards, among other things. In addition, Hakkers will install eight foundation piles between the new wall and existing quay wall for the future crane gantry. Sustainability is an important part of the strategy and approach within all our projects. We strive to reuse the materials we remove from one project on other projects or recycle the materials. We are constantly looking for new applications to make an even bigger difference. Moreover, by electrifying our equipment, Hakkers further strengthens its position in the market.
