SAFETY = ‘HAK’: HELP. ADDRESS. KNOW.

Safety programme

Caring for each other is paramount in our family business. Knowing that colleagues are looking out for each other gives a feeling of security. This means you must be aware of what can go wrong and the risks you face. It also means you can do something about it when something goes amiss. You speak to each other and warn each other. This applies to everyone from management to implementers and vice versa!

Safety is not up for debate at Hakkers, but it certainly helps that we do discuss it. You contribute to one of our most important principles when you work in compliance with our safety programme: ‘We work the HAK way’. We require compliance from everyone who works for the Hakkers Group: staff, sub-contractors and suppliers. HAK covers the most important issues when it comes to safety:

Help: We help each other to work safely.

Address: We address each other and allow ourselves to be addressed.

Know: We know the dangers and risks in our work.

Caring for each other is paramount in our family business.

Lifesaving Rules

Our Lifesaving Rules are a part of our safety programme: ‘We work the HAK way’. These were derived from the biggest risks we face. We refined these with our staff in 2021.

These Lifesaving Rules are very important so that everyone comes home from work healthy and safe. By complying with these rules, we help each other do our jobs safely and reduce the risk of accidents, serious or otherwise. So speak to each other about this! We are VCA-P certified and are on Step 3 of the Safety Ladder (SCL).
