The MS Frans is a self-propelled piling vessel built in 2000. The vessel is suitable for lifting, hoisting and piling. As standard, it has a 128-ton Woltman A-1200 crane on board. This crane has a maximum extension length of 5.50 metres and has a 44-metre leader. This crane can grab loads up to 100 tons from any angle. The vessel is powered by two Volvo engines with a capacity of 280 kW. Furthermore, the vessel is designed to carry the crane independently without a tug or pontoon. The stability of the vessel allows for hoisting and slewing from any direction, unlike a traditional floating sheerleg. Furthermore, the vessel has a special coating to reduce resistance in the fairway. This significantly reduces CO2 while sailing, and during lifting and hoisting work.
